Several years ago I wrote Foley in regards to this issue.  "He" replied that is the way it is now.  The fans want and expect it.

All SEC stadiums are doing that now.  They got permission from the SEC/NCAA to do it.

We're just like the NFL now.  Or…  the Arena League!  This is part of that "enhanced fan experience" they were talking about.
