Stopping the clock after first downs is one of the few things that makes college football unique. We don't need more NFL-ification of college ball. In reality, the average college game is 3:24 and that is with a 20 minute halftime break. If you want to bring in an NFL rule, follow the 12 minute half time rule.
And would we really have wanted to miss Urban calling the 3 timeouts at the end of the 2008 Florida game in Jax?
I'm ready to go the other direction, max 8 teams in a conference, bring back the UPI poll to crown the national champion, non of this playoff nonsense. Now get off my lawn!
