RE: [gatortalk] Re: [gatornews] NCAAF Florida AD to reevaluate after season - ESPN

The next 4 games appear out of reach to me too---and I'm not woofing. BTW, Brissett, other than the 2 key fumbles at the end, looked like a monster yesterday.

I would also like to see what Roper could do with the same personnel but that would make the 3rd HC with no previous HC experience out of the last 4 hired.
Having said that though I watched two games yesterday in which all 4 teams are future Gators foes and honestly don't have much confidence we can beat any of the 4.

I would be OK with Roper taking over as HC.  Last time we had an offensive head coach it worked out fairly well.

Muschamp IS a good DC.  He needs to stay out of the offense just as SOS learned to stay out of the defense.  That's when SOS started to truly win and dominate.

Muschamp's problem is he thinks he needs to be fully involved in everything.  I disagree with that... He needs to be involved but not micromanaging.  We have had three offensive coordinators-- were they all horrible?  All terrible?  Are we to believe we hired people who sucked at their jobs or is there some common element that may be holding them back?

Sure, everyone says it's a bad idea NOW to fire a coach in the middle of the season, but IF we lose to UT the cries from upset Gator fans are going to be deafening and I think Muschamp's inevitible firing would become a huge distraction. IF we lose to UT I'd rather see Foley cut the Muschamp cord and see what Roper can do as interim, he WAS supposed to be a hot head coaching prospect if the UF offense turned around this season. I hate coaching changes but to quote Foley, what has to be done eventually must be done now.
