Re: [gatortalk] Les Miles

Anatomy of a terrible Les Miles rumor

Kevin C. Cox

Please pace yourself. The college football offseason is long.

I'll preface this by saying I hate myself for having to write this now.

There is a rumor about Les Miles and an affair, and it's all very stupid. We're going to use this as a teachable moment, and not RUMOR AS FACT. There is no fact here. This is what happens in the college football offseason.

So, let's begin. The rumor:

By all accounts, it's not true. So please stop this. This is how the college football offseason spirals out of control. A rumor starts on a message board, spreads to Twitter, and then goes from there.

And if we want to go back further, what upAlabama boards.

Finally, I trust this man:

For the love of everything, please settle in for the next six months. It's a long offseason and these rumors are foolish. Thank you.
