They have a chance now. The only meet I have been able to watch was last week's at Alabama.
It was nerve wracking to say the least. Of course, you know the outcome of that one.
They were getting the benefit of home cooking, and our girls, even the stars, were rumblin' stumblin' bumblin' through every routine.
On the positive side, we lost a couple last year, and lost to Alabama at the SEC championships. Another positive note: I'm going to a cookout tonight and will not be able to watch.
Go Gator Gymnasts!!! Certain Victory awaits!! Wooo!!

The annual meet to raise awareness about breast cancer is always one of the highlights of the season, and this year marks the 10th anniversary of the event for the Florida gymnastics team.
"All I've heard from the girls the past couple of weeks is how excited they are for the Link to Pink meet," UF coach Jenny Rowland said. "It's very special that we are able to promote such an important cause and be able to put this on a platform and raise everybody's awareness and let them be a part of something special."
The No. 2 Gators (4-1, 2-1 SEC), who will square off with No. 9 Arkansas (3-4, 2-2) today at 6:45 p.m. in a top-10 SEC battle in the O'Connell Center, are coming off their first loss of the season, albeit by the slimmest of possible margins (.05).
Florida fell to No. 11 Georgia, 196.40-196.35, on the road last Friday.
UF led by nine-tenths of a point heading into the final event, but had to count a fall on the balance beam while the GymDogs (3-3, 2-2), getting three personal-best marks of 9.95 on the floor exercise, rallied to win the team title before a Stegeman Coliseum sellout crowd of 10,224.
"We learned that this team was not invincible, and we knew that," Rowland said. "But more importantly, they gained a lot of experience competing at an SEC meet with a little more rowdy of a crowd than we've been used to. I think it was good for our freshmen to experience that, and they really handled the pressure very well."
UF joins No. 1 Oklahoma as one of only two teams nationally with an average score above 197. Florida's average mark for the season is 197.22, just behind the Sooners' mark of 197.393.
Sophomore All-American Alex McMurtry led the way for the Gators, winning her fourth vault title of the year with a 9.90 and sharing the uneven bars title with Georgia's Brandie Jay, each with a 9.925.
In addition, UF senior All-American Bridget Sloan picked up a win on the balance beam with a 9.875.
It was the 78th win of her illustrious career, moving her into a tie for fourth place all-time with former standout Kristen Guise (1993-96).
"I think it was a tough loss because we only lost by half-a-tenth, and that can be picked up in any of our routines in any event," McMurtry said. "I think we're going to bounce back stronger than ever. We always have a meet where we have some falls and mistakes, but we're hitting it hard in practice and we're definitely going to show it off this weekend."
Rowland agrees.
"I believe that everything happens for a reason, and I believe last weekend was a very good lesson for us," she said. "It wasn't anything we can't overcome, and we're ready to move forward and finish off the season right."
The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Link to Pink poster and the first 2,000 fans will receive a Link to Pink T-shirt, both compliments of UFHealth. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
