Thanks, Gene. Having a little trouble wrapping my head around it, but something just doesn't sound right here. Do you get the same feeling? that something seems amiss in the attitude department. At any level of competition, the individual with the natural ability and superior trainin should have the advantage, though often the underdog wins. I would say the mental aspect is huge and I think we are lacking there. And---that character comes from the leadership down.

Just read this quote and think for a minute.
Florida safety Keanu Neal admitted things can get frustrating at times, but it won’t keep his unit from playing with any less effort or energy.
“It’s disappointing,” Neal said of the offense’s performance, “but we can only control the controllables. What happened on offense we can’t control.
“We’re close-knit on defense. Whenever we get a chance to go out and play, it’s exciting. So we just have to really focus on us and do our part.”
A team is a "team", not a defensive unit, special teams unit, or offense---all somehow cobbled together. This is 100% coaching philosophy period. That thought process tells me the team is divided. That can't work. Doesn't work. Isn't working. Everybody needs to be invested in everything, not just their position responsibility or their unit's responsibility. I would be interested if any of you would comment on this idea, whether you agree with me or not. I just thought the quote was telling in this regard.
