I'm good with Gary Patterson, Jim McElwain, and Chip Kelly.
No to Stoops. He has had his chance, besides, I think his one NC at OK will be his only.
No to Holliday, or really, any former Gator assistants. That would also eliminate Dan Mullin. (shudder)
Hugh Freeze, in a pinch. His hiring would mean Foley had struck out with his #1 and #2 choices.
How about Chris Peterson? He would be expensive. A quality prospect will be any way.
I seem to be the only one talking about Jim Harbaugh. Is he just hateful or something?

I am pretty sure I covered every box during the "Let the speculation begin" thread except the box "Panic in December …." Pretty darn funny.
So far the consensus seems to be that most believe that the most acceptable to the fan base (Stoops, Spurrier, Harbaugh, Kelly) probably would not come for one reason or another. Anybody else (list to follow) will have vocal detractors amongst the fan base given the emergence of social media. It should be interesting to watch.
FWIW here is my list and comments
1) Gary Patterson - He meets all the criteria except experience in the SEC and recruiting the Florida. He made TCU relevant, will be tough to hire away.
2) Bob Stoops - Most qualified candidate based on criteria, rejected us twice expect he will again
3) Doc Holliday - I am beginning to look harder at this bandwagon, makes T Rob expendable as Holliday is just as accomplished in S Florida. T Rob is a greater recruiter, I am not as sold on his coaching
4) Jim McElwain - Seems like he might have the creds, virtually unknown to the fan base
5) Mike Gundy - Same as Patterson, has PR issues which is why he would be the most controversial, Woody am I reading that right?
6) Hugh Freeze - Like McElwain has cred, I just don't think he will leave Oxford
7) Chip Kelly - Would love to have him but can't see him leaving the pros
The rest for various reasons
1) Spurrier - too old
2) Bell - too young
3) Mullen - Not the best overall record
4) Rich Rod - Michigan
5) Dabo Swinney - can't win the big one
6) Harbaugh - I just got through with 4 years of boring offense
7) Todd Graham - Professional coach working his way up the ranks
