Muschamp's biggest mistake was hiring Charlie Weiss. That set the offense back. Pease didn't get it out of the hole. Roper didn't have time to develop what had become a dysfunctional offense. One year wasn't enough time to change things beyond a basic, mostly conservative offense, especially when a freshman quarterback took over. 

The basic offense that was installed for Georgia and Vanderbilt was easily defended once the South Carolina DC figured out what we were doing.

Muschamp always answered the question about why Driskel was playing.  Roper never did.

 

Too late now, of course, but I think Muschamp could have (and maybe should have) deflected some of the pressure onto Roper.

 

Just a thought.

Well I want to believe what Mr. Roper said but I also think you wouldn't say he did even if he did. It's awfully coincidental that we've had 3 OC's that seemed like they operated under "lockdown"
