Re: [gatortalk] Good grief

Paula and I discussed last night whether we wanted to donate our tickets to UF or attend the FSU game.  We decided to attend for several reasons. 
 
We want to support the players; we are going to need them to rebuild.  We enjoy all the pre-game events and celebrations, too.  Then, there's the 'in all kinds of weather' thing: do it or stop chanting.  Speaking of chanting, I can't wait to chant to that sing-song FSU moan: NOOOOooooo....means....NOOOOOO!  And, it really is 'Great to be a Florida Gator.'  Hopefully, we'll be chanting that one on the way out, win or lose.

We gave our tix for this game back to UF several weeks ago. (You get a charitable deduction for that.) we listened at home on the radio. 

Fortunately we were able to sell our tix for next week to a Gator fan. I fear the stadium is going to sound like an FSU home game.

Florida-Georgia Southern pay-for-view unavailable on Comcast

Comcast subscribers will not be able to order UF's only pay-for-view game

The Florida Gators' visit Saturday from Georgia Southern will available for $39.99 on pay-for-view in Gainesville, but not at any price for some of the state's larger fan bases.
Comcast, the primary service provider for South Florida, will not offer the game to customers because of a technical issue, UF announced on Friday.
Sun Sports offered the telecast, which kicks off at 2 p.m., to all cable providers in the state, but the network and Comcast failed to resolve the technical issue, Mike Hill, UF's executive associate athletics director for external affairs, told the school's Web site.
Hill called the snag "extremely unfortunate."
The game will, however, be available on AT&T U-Verse, DirecTV or Dish Network, as well as at restaurants and other establishments.
The game is UF's only game shown on pay-for-view. Beginning next season, the fledgling SEC Network will elminate pay-for-view games in the league, spokesman Chuck Dunlap said.
