Friendly foes
Muschamp said he and Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher are still friends, but their friendship is a little different now that they're coaching at rival schools. The two worked together on Nick Saban's LSU staff and were at one time co-owners of a beach house in the Northwest Florida.
“Obviously, there's not a whole lot of communication from the standpoint of other than just checking on families and things,” Muschamp said. “There's absolutely no football discussed or recruiting, I can assure you of that. Jimbo's a good man and he and (his wife) Candi are great people. And he's done a fantastic job there.”
