Re: [gatortalk] Fwd: Grier at Home?

Nick @ Gator Country says he's just been going home on weekends and has been in class. I've also read some of his classes are online so he doesn't even have to be physically in Gainesville.

As far as practice goes, I seriously doubt he'd be absent without Mac's approval. It's even possible the coaches feel his presence might be a distraction and encouraged him to concentrate on his appeal.

I think that's what the Gainesville Sun reported. It's odd that he wouldn't be in school. There's no way anyone could pass a class without being in it for several weeks.

Didn't I read that somewhere?

This makes no sense.

First, it was made clear that Grier could practice with the team, even if suspended.

Why wouldn't he want the extra practice time? It seemed pretty clear that he needed it.

The only reason I can see for not practicing with the team is that he doesn't plan on being with our team next year.

Second, how on earth is he spending time in NC over the past few weeks?

Students are in the meat of their classes. There is no way that someone could take a few weeks off in the middle of the semester and hope to do well in in his classes.

Color me confused.

But the SEC championship? No way Grier returns for that. He hasn't even been practicing with the team as he goes through the appeals process. Grier has been spending time back home in North Carolina over the past few weeks.
