Grier family shows Gators QB Support with 'Free Willy' shirts
Florida quarterback Will Grier now has shirts supporting his NCAA appeal.
Grier's father, Chad Grier, posted a picture on social media Monday sporting a 'Free Willy' T-shirt. Grier's stepmother and five other women also posed with their own Free Willy shirts.
The group is standing on a beach with the ocean behind them, an ode to the 1993 movie of the same name.
Grier and his lawyers reportedly had a conference call Monday with the NCAA regarding his appeal. Grier is being represented by the law firm Morgan & Morgan and Orlando attorney Clay Townsend, the father of UF punter Johnny Townsend.
Grier was suspended in October for a violation of the NCAA's policy for performance-enhancing drugs. He is facing a year-long ban and would miss the first six games of 2016 if his suspension is upheld.
His lawyers are arguing for a penalty reduction and Grier to return at the beginning of next season.
