Re: [gatortalk] Tebowmania

Of course not. I know several Gator fans who feel as you do, including Paula and I. We are college sports fans. I am writing this from the Gator motorhome at the Hoover Met, site of the SEC Baseball Tournament that starts Tuesday. If you support college athletics to the extent we do, there is little or no time for following pro sports.

Since moving back to the Jacksonville area, I am being reluctantly immersed in Tebowmania. There is a HUGE number of Jag fans who are trying to force pressure the Jags into signing Tim.

I like Tim Tebow as much as the next gator fan, but once a player leaves Gainesville, he’s on his own. On one hand, I’d like for the Jags to sign him, but on the other hand, I don’t watch NFL or care anything about it, and if they DID sign him, it would force me to insert something else into my busy life – the NFL.

I would dust off my Fred Taylor jersey, break out the Jag flag for my truck, take the Jag coffee cup out of the Coffee Cup Collection display case, and start wearing my Jag cap again. I would have to start surfing for home game tickets and maybe even buy a couple of season tickets.

Life is just simpler without the NFL. I just don’t have the time, energy or finances for Tebowmania. Does this make me a “bad gator”?

Randy
