That makes perfect sense, Charlie. But, since there is no king of baseball, who decides what the standards are? Just another result of pluralistic democracy from which we gain our competitive edge as a society through experimental creativity. Who would you have attend the conference to develop the standards? I watch a lot of the local Mets farm team, the St. Lucie Mets. These kids for the most part are about the same age as the Gator Baseballers . As far as I know the same bats and balls are used from the lowliest rookie league right up to the majors.
