All of that makes perfect sense, but then to apply that sense to the voters in the polls would just be silly. I was merely explaining what most of the voters were thinking. They looked at simple facts and applied it to their ballots. They didn't follow Georgetown and UF all year. They didn't pay attention to other plot lines, etc... They took the easy, lazy way out and there you are... we are 9 in their minds. Doesn't make sense to me... even if we were the worst Elite 8 team that should make a pretty damn good point to make us 8th.

I watched Georgetown and UF all year.
-- There is no question that UF would have won that game and made round of 8.
I also believe that we match up better with Kansas than Michigan, and may well have made the Final Four.
Anyone who claims it was the upsets is putting a lot of weight on the fact that one player on UM - Stauskas - who was 2 for 19 or something terrible from 3 point range in the tourney, happened to get hot against us.
The upsets had nothing to do with where we were or how we lost. We designed a defense to bottle up UM's best weapons and make Stauskas beat us and - on that night - he did.
On another night when Murph makes a few shots (like he always had) and Stauskas misses a few (like he always had), and it is a different game.

p.s. Did anyone think about nicknaming this team "Murph and the Magictones?"

We had a relatively easy path to the Elite 8 and then promptly got smacked in the face. There are some that say we would not have made it to the Elite 8 at all if not for the other upsets.
