Re: [gatortalk] Fwd: [gatornews] Bianchi: Spoiled Gator fans can't even sell out season opener

I think the truth is that Gator fans aren't different from other sports fans. All fans are a lot more enthused about attending games when their team is playing at a championship level.

Urban's last year disenchanted me.

To be frank, Foley's treatment of Spurrier when the HBC position came open disenchanted me, but MNCs, Leak and Tebow helped me to be excited about the teams.

But, the year when Urban zoned through the whole year followed by hiring Muschamp (who?) and a style of football that has been pretty hard to watch has me on the fence - not about going to games - but watching them at all.

This is from a man who never missed watching a game in the Zook era.

Another factor Bianchi needs to consider is hotel availability. Friends of mine went to see the game and visit their daughter in school. The Holday Inn was $500 a night; two night minimum.

I can't see many people able to afford that kind of lodging, even if ticket prices come back to earth.
