Seems kind of strange that players that never played in the SEC are in the SEC legends class.

Former Gator great Danny Wuerffel, who quarterbacked UF to four consecutive SEC titles and a national championship, has been selected to the 2017 SEC Football Legends class.

The 1996 Heisman Trophy winner is one of 14 former conference football standouts that make up the class that will be honored in Atlanta the weekend of the SEC Championship Game. The annual SEC Legends Dinner presented by AT&T will be held Dec. 1 at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta and the group will also be recognized prior to the SEC Football Championship Game, which will be held at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Dec. 2.

The full 2017 SEC Football Legends class:

• ALABAMA – Gene Stallings, Head Coach, 1990-96
• ARKANSAS – Dan Hampton, Defensive Tackle, 1975-78
• AUBURN – Carlos Rogers, Defensive Back, 2001-04
• FLORIDA – Danny Wuerffel, Quarterback, 1993-96
• GEORGIA – Roland "Champ" Bailey, Defensive Back, 1996-98
• KENTUCKY – Nate Northington, Defensive Back, 1966-67
• LSU – Glenn Dorsey, Defensive Tackle, 2004-07
• OLE MISS – Terrence Metcalf, Offensive Line, 1997, 1999-2001
• MISSISSIPPI STATE – Floyd "Pork Chop" Womack, Offensive Line, 1997-2000
