Re: [gatortalk] Re: [gatornews] [SUN]: Running back Adam Lane transferring from UF

One one of the multitude of message boards, someone made what I thought was a valid point - these guys are in school and at practice six days a week, so that 4+ hours going back & forth to Gainesville can get really significant.

Well he missed most of spring practice with a quad injury and McElwain was none too happy about it.

Yeah, that was my thought, too. Still, he has kids and I can see him wanting to be closer. If he ends up at UCF, then I'll figure it really is about family. If he goes elsewhere, then we'll know it's about something else.

Closer to home than UF to Winter Haven?

Redshirt sophomore Adam Lane is transferring from the football program, the school announced Sunday. Lane, from Winter Haven, won MVP honors in the Birmingham Bowl.

"Adam Lane has some family issues that he is dealing with and wants to be closer to home," UF coach Jim McElwain said in a statement. "As you've heard me say many times family comes first in this program and we will grant him his release and we will do everything we can to help him."
