Re: [gatortalk] off topic/perseids

Unfortunately I got up at 2:45 and watched for about 1/2 hour.  It was a perfect evening to watch—no clouds and I live in the country, so no city lights.  It was boring!  I saw a meteor about once a minute and very few were spectacular.  I have a friend that did the same thing but watched until 4:00 am.  His take was the same as mine—overrated.

NASA was streaming video last night - they were only on air until about 2AM but it was getting pretty good around then.  Best time, unfortunately, is about 3AM local time until dawn.
