I'm a little surprised. I don't follow basketball that much but thought she had lost as many as she had won over the years, The team finished 13-17 after 4 consecutive 20 win seasons and was 11th in the SEC.

Florida women's basketball coach Amanda Butler signed a two-year contract extension through the 2019 season, Athletics Director Jeremy Foley announced Wednesday.

Butler is the second-winningest coach in program history. The Gators have averaged 19 wins per season during Butler's eight-year tenure at her alma mater and earned a postseason berth seven times. The Gators finished 13-17 this season.

"Clearly, the results of last season were not what anyone, including Coach Butler, had hoped. That said, I continue to strongly feel that Amanda is the right person to get Florida women's basketball to be a contender in this league and nationally. She's a Gator and will keep working tirelessly to elevate this program." Foley said in a UF release.

In the same release, Butler said, "I am very appreciative of the leadership of Jeremy Foley and Lynda Tealer and their belief in me. Great accomplishments are always preceded by a shared vision. Our vision is one of always developing our student athletes in all areas of their lives and always competing for championships.

"Last season was disappointing for me and Gator Nation. Gator Nation deserves excellence - the very best coaching, student-athletes and results. We will do whatever is necessary to make Florida Women's Basketball a cornerstone of pride for our University of Florida. I am very excited about what the future holds for our program."
