I half expected Will Muschamp to be on this list.

Five down to their last chance to shine

Andre Debose is down to his last chance to make the impact at receiver he was supposed to.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- GatorBait.net takes a look at five redshirt seniors who came to Florida with high expectations and have yet to meet them. They're down to their last chance in 2014.

RB Mack Brown: Brown was widely hailed as the best running back Urban Meyer had snagged at the time he committed to Florida. A solid four-star prospect with good size and speed, Brown was supposed to be the do-it-all back who could run between the tackles with the speed to take it the distance too. In four years, he hasn't done much. Even so, he put together a 543-yard season in 2013 yet seems to be barely in the conversation when it comes to running back. Brown has a chance to form a solid one-two punch with Kelvin Taylor this fall and give NFL scouts something to think about if he can finally live up to his lofty billing. But if he doesn't step up, there are also other talented backs who will have the chance to steal carries away from him.

WR Andre Debose: While Debose has the SEC record for kickoff return touchdowns, he's done little else to live up to his five-star billing. He was, by far, the highest regarded prospect on this list. Aside from a 432-yard season in 2011, though, he's been hampered by injuries and attitude issues. Coming off an ACL tear and going into a new offense, Debose has a chance to erase some of the disappointment of the last few years to emerge as the deep threat Florida has been missing the last two years. He has all the potential in the world, he just has to stay healthy and finally start tapping into it.

OT Chaz Green: As one of the top-rated offensive linemen in the country coming out of high school, Green was supposed to be an anchor at tackle for years to come. Instead, he has seemingly regressed following a 2011 season that saw him named a freshman All-American. He was plenty serviceable in 2012 as a run blocker but struggled against elite defensive ends. An torn labrum ended his 2013 season before it began. Now Green is being counted on as the starter at right tackle on a line that has a dangerously thin depth chart. Even if he's not a star this season, Green needs to at least stay healthy for Florida to have a chance to turn things around.

DT Leon Orr: Orr was one of the top defensive tackles coming out of high school, a true freak athlete with the size to be a monster in the middle. However, it took him longer to recover from the broken leg he came in with. Finally Orr started to make some contributions in 2012 and 2013, but he still hasn't been the menace inside he's capable of becoming. Consistency has been a major issue for Orr, who has also dealt with various injuries that have slowed him. With the Gators looking for more out of their defensive line, Orr's a guy who can take a good unit and make it great with a strong year. He needs to do it.

LB Neiron Ball: Perhaps its a bit unfair to label Ball as a guy who has been a bit disappointing in his career given everything he has gone through, with a life-threatening injury putting his career in the back seat for a while. Ball's role has been limited the last two years with the strong-side linebacker off the field frequently due to Florida's preference to play nickel, and in some ways that's not his fault. But Florida will get him on the field in the event he proves he can be a consistent, reliable pass-rusher. There's just too much of a need for them right now for Ball to be left off the field if he shows he can provide that.
