Florida clearly has an advantage of game day experience. You can practice and train all you want, but until you do it in an actual game, you are just a practice player-- not a game player.
Injuries happen in football. They can happen in a game or they can happen on the practice field. I see this as even. No advantage for either team. Oftentimes, athletes are less prone to injury during actual games because they are more focused and have the proper mindset to avoid the errors that can lead to injuries.
Tape? Both offenses will be new-ish. We know what TAM will do. It will be no different from what Houston did... They kinda know what we will do. It won't be the same as last year, and they could lean on Boise State tape, but we won't show everything in our first game. We will have the advantage of trying our offense in live fire, they do not. I see this as a huge advantage for Florida... actual game time experience is invaluable for our team, but the amount we show/do against Bowling Green will not provide them advantage over just looking at Boise's tape. And lets not forget, our secondary is a team strength... they are getting experience working together that TAM will not have and plays into their supposed passing strength.
I give us the edge... however, they have a huge home team advantage. Their very first SEC against an elite SEC team... they will be rabid. We must score early and often to take them out of the game. If we let this game stay close, we are in danger.

Subject: [gatortalk] Debate: Who has advantage with TAM now opening vs Fla?
So... Texas A&M, because of hurricane Isaac, will now open vs Fla a week from this Saturday.
Most seem to think this favors Florida.
Me? Im not so sure. Time to debate! Who has advantage in this game?
Florida will have atleast one game with this staff, personnel, etc to work out kinks, etc.
TAM will have had no game time experience with this staff, personnel (including a new starter at QB).
-- Advantage - UF
TAM has less of a chance of significant injury due to no game.
FLA has a greater chance of significant injury due to playing a game.
-- Advantage - TAM - however.. injury is part of the game and cant be an excuse... but it could be a factor.
TAM will have 14 games of tape to review with current staff, personnel and (somewhat same) scheme and more time to prepare for Florida due to no game first week.
FLA will not have any game tape of this staff with this personnel and scheme to review and less time to prepare.
-- Advantage TAM
Giving the slight edge to TAM here... home field advantage in what will be a raucous atmosphere with plenty of time to prepare. They'll have fresh legs and the whole deal.... Im really worried.
