They were invited...they were doing fundraisers all year last year. I believe FAMU was invited to Atlanta in 1996 to be in the closing ceremonies

My sister claims that they are the only US college band that is doing so.
Anyone have any details or any idea why a US college band would be playing at an Olympics in a foreign country?
