Re: [gatortalk] Stupid Nole

Dude!  You are on the watch list now. Do you see black helicopters flying around your location?  Does your phone make a strange clicking sound when you first answer it?

Greg Reid had pot in his car

Florida State Seminoles cornerback Greg Reid told police he had no knowledge of the marijuana found in his car during a traffic stop that led to Reid's arrest Tuesday, according to the Georgia State Patrol incident report.

Reid was pulled over on Georgia Route 376 in Lowndes County at about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday when Georgia State Patrol officer J.W. Kinsey determined he was not wearing a seatbelt and his car appeared to be in violation of a window-tint law.

Reid was unable to provide a driver's license; records showed his license had been suspended because of four unpaid traffic fines, according to the incident report. Reid told police he believed he had taken care of the unpaid fines, but was taken into custody at the scene.

During a routine search of the vehicle at the time of the arrest, Kinsey said he could detect "a strong odor of air freshener mixed with a burnt marijuana smell."

In the car, Kinsey found loose cigar tobacco, a clear zip-lock bag and a partially smoked cigar containing a small amount of a substance that field tests determined to be marijuana.

Reid denied smoking the marijuana and said he had no knowledge it was in his car, but there were no other passengers in the vehicle, according to the report.

During the incident, Reid asked to be released with just a ticket, and at the Lowndes County jail requested to enter through an alternate entrance so as not to be seen. Both requests were denied.

Reid was charged with a seatbelt violation, driving on a suspended license and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and released Tuesday evening.

Florida State released a statement from coach Jimbo Fisher on Wednesday that said the coach was still investigating the incident.

Fisher is not required to issue a suspension unless felony charges are brought against a player, but this is not Reid's first brush with the law. He was arrested last fall on perjury charges that quickly were dropped. Reid also was suspended last year for an undisclosed violation of team rules.

Reid, a three-year starter, is entering his senior season as one of Florida State's top defenders and special-teams players. He made 32 tackles and had two interceptions in 2012, along with 563 return yards.
