Florida freshman cornerback CJ Henderson made a big-time true freshman mistake in the loss to Missouri last Saturday, appearing to give up on a deep ball that turned into a 49-yard gain that set up a third-quarter touchdown. He will learn from it, UF coach Randy Shannon said.
"Just got on him hard about it because he's a better football player than that, he's a better player than that," Shannon said. "Sometimes when you've got young guys on the football field they tend to (fade) out a little bit, but we're going to build him up, we're going to keep coaching him and make him be the best that he can be.
"He's done a lot of great things for us and we're not going to beat a young man up because of something like that. We just have to make him understand you have to finish the play every time."
Henderson stopped Missouri's first drive with an end zone interception. He became the first Gator true freshman since Vernon Hargreaves in 2013 to record three interceptions in a season, which tie Henderson for second nationally among all true freshman.

[gatortalk] Re: [gatornews] [SUN]: Gators coaching up freshman cornerback
Multiple articles have claimed Henderson stopped running and gave up on this play. It looked like to me the receiver pushed off and stiff armed him pretty much the same as our tight end was called for offensive pass interference against georgia.
GoGators!!!
