Re: [gatortalk] I am praying for you all.

Thanks, Jerry.
I live in a nonevacuation zone in St Petersburg, so my family is staying put. Our daughter and soninlaw and their 2cats are riding out the storm with us. We have no risk of flooding and our cars are all in garages, but we don't board up our windows so we shall see. (We live in a 3-story concrete block townhouse.) What I'm really dreading is loss of power and with it AC and refrigeration. We have a gas water heater and stove top and in past power outages we've still been able to cook and take hot showers.
Stay safe, everyone!

To my Gatortalk friends in harm's way over the next few days, my prayers are with you.  Please stay safe.  Having lived in Gainesville, Naples, Miami, Orlando, and with a home in Lecanto, I am fearful of the outcome from this storm.  It is hard to imagine that this storm is much larger than the 1935 Labor Day Hurricane which ironically is taking a similar west coast of Florida track.  Incidentally, it hit the Keys and then went alongside the coast until it made landfall in Cedar Key.  By the way, this was the storm that destroyed Henry Flagler's railroad to the Keys.  The storm surge in the keys killed over 400.

On another note, I am sure you will join me in praying for Steve McKibben.  After experiencing the trauma of Irma, he is about to experience another Cat 5 storm in Jose.  Those trying to recover might not even know Jose is coming.
