To my Gatortalk friends in harm's way over the next few days, my prayers are with you. Please stay safe. Having lived in Gainesville, Naples, Miami, Orlando, and with a home in Lecanto, I am fearful of the outcome from this storm. It is hard to imagine that this storm is much larger than the 1935 Labor Day Hurricane which ironically is taking a similar west coast of Florida track. Incidentally, it hit the Keys and then went alongside the coast until it made landfall in Cedar Key. By the way, this was the storm that destroyed Henry Flagler's railroad to the Keys. The storm surge in the keys killed over 400.
On another note, I am sure you will join me in praying for Steve McKibben. After experiencing the trauma of Irma, he is about to experience another Cat 5 storm in Jose. Those trying to recover might not even know Jose is coming.
