Re: [gatortalk] FW: [gatornews] [SUN]: Gators drop to No. 25

If we had one sure fire shooter, we would be a really good team.  Unfortunately, we have  a few guys (Allen, Barry, Robinson and Leon) that can get on hot streaks, but aren't consistent enough to win consistently.

I think this week we will see something me lineup changes, Barry did a good job coming off the bench in December, but I sent having the same production in January.  Maybe he should start so he gets into the rhythm of the game faster.  And Egbunu... I think I would rather see Rimmer play more than him at this point. Egbunu reminds me of Eugene McDowell, sleeping on the court.

I'm just happy to see we're still in the top 25 after last week.

It wasn't quite great to be…

Gators drop to No. 25

Florida center John Egbunu can't hang on to a pass during Saturday's game against Vanderbilt at the O'Connell Center.

Even after back-to-back losses to South Carolina and Vanderbilt, Florida remained in the Associated Press Top 25 this week.

But barely.

The Gators (14-5) dropped six spots to No. 25 in this week's AP poll, marking the fifth straight week that UF has stayed in the rankings.

Florida will get a chance to bounce back from its two-game losing streak with games Wednesday at LSU and Saturday at Oklahoma in the SEC-Big 12 Challenge. Florida coach Mike White has dubbed this week as a crossroads for the team.

"Certain teams in our league and certain teams throughout the country in college basketball, right about now, head upward and some head downward," White said following UF's 68-66 home loss to Vanderbilt on Saturday. "We want to be the first and we weren't."
