And, Steve Spurrier accomplished this feat with a team that had never been in it before.

He, and others laid the foundation that made Urban Meyer successful in recruiting, etc.

If they are going to count the Alabama and Notre Dame not really championships, then our 1983 Championship ought to count.

In the prior article, our overall winning percentage in the 90s was the second highest in NCAA history. I think that Nebraska in the 70s edged us out. Truly a magical era.

I was looking at SEC records the other day. In 12 seasons, Spurrier never lost 3 or more SEC games. In 7 seasons, Meyer lost 3 or more SEC games 3 times, essentially every other year. One year was even 4-4. I think that Spurrier had a 5 year stretch where we didn't lose 4 SEC games, total.
