Florida picked up its first signature win of the Mike White era on Saturday afternoon, knocking off No. 9 West Virginia 88-71 before a sold out O'Connell Center.

Senior forward Dorian Finney-Smith led the Gators (14-7, 5-3 SEC) with 24 points, with freshman guard KeVaughn Allen adding 19 points.

West Virginia (17-4, 6-2 SEC) came into the game the nation's top 3-point percentage defense (26.8 percent), but Florida was able to stay hot from long range throughout the game. Florida made five of its first seven 3-pointers and finished 12-20 (60 percent) from 3-point range.

The Gators picked up their first win of the season against a ranked team and improved to 1-4 on the season against ranked teams.

Florida also got a lift from its bench. Redshirt freshman guard Brandone Francis-Ramirez scored nine points, making all three of his 3-point attempts. Sophomore forward Devin Robinson had seven points and five rebounds, while junior center Schuyler Rimmer had two points and six rebounds.

With his 24 points, Finney-Smith became the 51st career 1,000-point scorer in UF history. The 6-foot-8 Portsmouth, Virginia, native has scored 1,001 points in two-plus seasons with the Gators.
