It's quite a dilemma really. As far as what's best for the team-- the players and coaches no doubt value a bye week to heal and get ready for a big game with Georgia. On the other hand, they may need a win over Idaho to be bowl eligible, and certainly win total matters in bowl invites. And maybe they won't beat Georgia anyway. As far as what's best for the university-- if they reschedule the game, they have all the usual game costs with no revenue. If they don't reschedule it, they have to refund tickets. Or do they just hand out rain checks for the other two non-SEC games and make people mad at them? And then there's Idaho. I would guess that the contract contains some provisions regarding game cancellation. This would be an act of God, so they probably would not owe the whole fee. But then if Idaho returns, they might have to pay more than they would have originally. I'd love to know all the ins and outs of this.

As you know, after lengthy delays, the Florida-Idaho game was suspended due to weather, unsafe and unplayable field conditions at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday night. Many of you who purchased tickets to the game and attended the game have many questions which have yet to be answered, including whether or not the game will be rescheduled, and what is that status of tickets issued for the game. Because there are many issues that must be resolved, there will be no decision regarding the status of the Florida-Idaho game made today (Sunday), but we anticipate knowing more in the next two or three days. We will share any updates when they become available. Coach Muschamp stated last night his appreciation for the energy and passion of the Gator fans at the game and for the most enthusiastic Gator Walk in his tenure from the best fans in the country.
