But, that is the point.

If flying someone's mother to see her son play in an AAU game is an NCAA violation, then there should have been restitution.

If it is not, and I'd wager it happens all the time, why bring it up to justify a 12 game suspension?

I would take it to mean airfare, lodging, etc was received by others connected to him.
His portion was only $270.00.  That was probably the cost of a cell phone and a Miami jersey.

How can "free cellphones and service, airfare, lodging, meals and apparel" be worth only $270?

If the other items weren't violations, why include them in the report.

If they were, why wasn't restitution ordered?

A forward from Bonifay in Florida's panhandle, Walker sat out 12 games, or 40 percent of the season, because the NCAA determined he "received preferential treatment from five people, including two agents." The NCAA said Walker and people close to him accepted free cellphones and service, airfare, lodging, meals and apparel while he was a prospect.

He was ordered to donate the $270 received from the agents to a charity of his choice and serve 80 hours of community service.
