Yep. He’s a great recruiter too. But, I don’t think he has the assistant coaches this time like he had at Utah or Florida.
It will be interesting to watch.

Think of how Billy Gonzales left UF, out of the blue, supposedly over an incident involving Percy Harvin.
When it started to go bad at UF, it went bad fast, over 12-18 months he went from nearly playing for a National Title to an average team and then he was gone over health reasons or so we were told.
He’s a great coach, but it will be interesting to see if more of these Off Field incidents pop up and how long he stays…..

Losing to Michigan State and then losing their bowl game had to be a pretty tough kick in the head for Meyer too.

I know most of you may not care, but I like to follow what our former coach is doing up in Columbus.
I heard about this story yesterday and it’s all over various message boards today.
The gist of the story is that Urban Meyer was upset at Luke Fickell the defensive coordinator for the defense playing so poorly against Michigan. The two engaged in a very tense conversation when defensive assistant Mike Vrabel took offense at Urban Meyer’s attack on Fickell…what followed is rumor, but various reports are that Vrabel grabbed Meyer by the neck and pinned him against the wall and eventually the two had to be separated.
Later, Vrabel left the Buckeyes for a job with the Houston Texans of the NFL, Buckeye fans were shocked because Vrabel is reportedly the best recruiter on Meyer’s staff and played a big role in their last 2 highly ranked classes.
The rumor is after the fight, Vrabel was told to get a job elsewhere.

During his time at UF, various rumors were going around about his off field activities and who he was doing them with…
The main reason I’m interested in this, is my belief that people like Urban Meyer don’t change, things eventually will go south for him in Columbus and this event appears to be the first we’ve heard about in Columbus and probably won’t be the last.
