This is the third in a five-part series with an eye on the 2013 college football season. Sun sports columnist Pat Dooley has picked his preseason Top 25 and will reveal five a day. Today, Nos. 11-15.
No. 15: Texas
The good news: The Longhorns return 18 starters, which is the recipe for a darkhorse run at a national title.
The bad news: Texas has been compiling mediocre season after mediocre season since playing for it all in 2009. Are we supposed to believe it will be different in 2013?
No. 14: Florida
The good news: Quarterback Jeff Driskel is in his second year at quarterback with offensive coordinator Brent Pease and his offensive line should be better than a year ago.
The bad news: The schedule might well be the toughest in the nation with games at Miami, at LSU, at South Carolina and in Jacksonville against Georgia.
No. 13: Florida State
The good news: Jimbo Fisher has stocked the roster with a lot of talent, probably enough to overcome the losses to the NFL.
The bad news: FSU will have to show the nation it finally is ready to be all the way back by not having one really unexplainable loss each year.
No. 12: Baylor
The good news: Even without Nick Florence at quarterback, Art Briles will find a way to lead the Big 12 in offense.
The bad news: The defense was one of the worst in college football last year. It has to get better, but are the athletes there to make it happen?
No. 11: Texas A&M
The good news: A loaded offense led by Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel should make the Aggies one of America's most exciting teams.
The bad news: You just wonder if Manziel's head might explode like Austin Powers' Fem-bots. The lights are going to be pretty bright on this team.
