Gainesville SUN CorrespondentPublished: Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 5:15 p.m.Last Modified: Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 5:15 p.m.After enjoying its longest tournament run in 13 years, the Florida women's basketball team has witnessed a flurry of personnel losses this offseason.Three Gators players have decided to leave the program, including Sydney Moss, fellow freshman guard Chandler Cooper and junior center Vicky McIntyre, UF confirmed Thursday."Sydney wants to be close to her mom and home. We wish her, Chandler and Vicky the best," sixth-year coach Amanda Butler said in a statement. An All-SEC Freshman Team selection, Moss was Florida's second-leading scorer last season at 11.8 points per game and also led the Gators in assists with 143. Moss joined the Gators following a stellar prep career at Union (Ky.) Boone County, where she was named 2012 Kentucky "Miss Basketball" as a senior.Cooper, a native of Clarksville, Tenn., played in just three games during her lone season at Florida due to a left foot injury and announced she will transfer to Lipscomb University. Her father, Al Cooper, played college basketball for the Bisons from 1986-1990.On June 7, Cooper tweeted: "Thanks for everything UF. Not an easy decision, but the right one. Could not be more excited to start moving in the right direction! #LU."Following her transfer from Oklahoma State in 2012, McIntyre averaged 4.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in 29 games this season with Florida before missing the team's final eight contests for personal reasons.Neither Moss nor McIntyre has stated a possible transfer destination.Florida finished last season with a 22-15 record, highlighted by a trip to the semifinal round of the WNIT. Moss, who played the second-most minutes of any UF player, earned a spot on the WNIT All-Tournament Team after leading the Gators in scoring (19.6 ppg) and rebounding (9.0 rpg) in five postseason games.Prior to the untimely departures of Moss, Cooper and McIntyre, the Gators were slated to return 12 players with senior forward Jennifer George as the team's lone anticipated loss.Heading into next season, Florida adds three newly eligible players, including McDonald's All-American signee Ronni Williams and transfers Cassie Peoples and Antoinette Bannister.
