My husband and I just bought tix to go see the Bulls in Chicago in March. Our daughter lives there now and we thought we would take in a little basketball on our next trip.

The NCAA recognized the top-75 players, top-25 teams, and top-35 moments in NCAA Tournament history as part of the season-long celebration of 75 Years of March Madness on Tuesday, December 11. Former Gator Joakim Noah was named one of the top-75 players in tournament history, while the 2006-07 Florida Gators were recognized as one of the top-25 teams in the tournament's 75 years of play.

 

Noah was a two-time All-American at UF, earning honorable mention AP honors in 2006 and second-team honors in 2007. He was also named to the All-SEC First team in both 2006 and 2007. The New York City native was the Most Outstanding Player of both the Minneapolis Region and Final Four in 2006, setting an NCAA single Tournament record with 29 blocked shots, including a Championship game record six against UCLA.

 

The 2006-07 University of Florida men's basketball team successfully defending their national championship, defeating Ohio State, 84-75, in the 2007 NCAA Tournament final. They became the first team in 15 years to win consecutive titles, as well.

 

The lists were compiled by the NCAA's basketball and statistics staffs, which worked with the NCAA's media partners and selected members of the United States Basketball Writers Association.

 

Starting in January, fans will vote to help determine the top-15 players, best team, and single-best moment in NCAA Tournament history. These honorees will be introduced at the 2013 Final Four in Atlanta.
