The issue was that Stricklin had built a case against Mac to fire him "for cause".  What this did was nullify grounds for Mac to receive his "buy out"  provision in his contract which would have been nearly $14 million.  If he waited until the end of the season, it would have negated proof of "show cause".  So, either the issue was large and true, therefore it demanded an immediate termination or it was not sufficient to demand immediate termination and Mac gets the $14 million.  You do realize that we are still paying Muschamp his buy out money because of the way Foley mishandled that situation.  Stricklin handled correctly and the only way to keep that money available to hire a new coach and fund the contracts for the new coach and staff.

I am really worried about this team and the near-term future.  It seemed to me that the efforts on both sides of the ball were uninspired.  These guys seem to have quit.  To coin a phrase from Coach Mac, "Don't look at the past, Next man (coach) up! It is important for this team to come together and start playing for pride, if nothing else.  AS the announce pointed out yesterday, the guys and coaches are interviewing for future careers.  I am not sure who really showed up yesterday.
