Seven grams-that's about a quarter ounce. That should be equal to a speeding ticket.I agree, legalize it and tax it.

Florida wide receiver Antonio Callaway has been cited for marijuana possession stemming from a traffic stop early Saturday morning.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida star receiver Antonio Callaway is in hot water yet again during the offseason.
Early Saturday morning he was cited for misdemeanor marijuana possession when Gainesville Police Department officers stopped a black Mercedes SUV. Callaway was a passenger in the rear driver's side seat, and the officer smelled marijuana when he approached the vehicle.
After asking Callaway to exit the vehicle, the officer found a bag of marijuana weight about seven grams in the front pocket of Callaway's pants.

Another passenger, 40-year-old Kendrick Williams, was also found with marijuana in the car. Both he and Callaway admitted to ownership of the marijuana, according to the police report.
Callaway had previously admitted to smoking marijuana in an alleged sexual assault case. He was cleared in that case by a Title IX investigation but had told investigators that he was "so stoned (he) had no interest in having sex with anyone."
A junior-to-be, Callaway recorded 54 catches for 721 yards and three touchdowns a year ago. He is considered Florida's top player on offense.

Re: [gatortalk] Re: [gatornews] Antonio Callaway cited for marijuana possession
Yeah, I agree too. It's ridiculous that it's not legal, but that's not the point. Right now it actually is illegal whether it should be or not. Here is a young man with the gift of elite athletic skills who can make many, many millions in his career and all he has to do is work hard on his craft and not be stupid in his personal life. He already has an alleged sexual assault in his background. Add a couple of drug charges and the general impression of a player who lacks discipline will drop him in the draft and cost him a lot of money. I just think that's a high price to pay for a toke. On the positive side, we have some great young receivers. If Calloway would rather get high than play, I'm sure there are several who would be happy to take his reps.
