According to a report from the Gainesville Sun, Florida coach Jim McElwain has added to his off-the-field support staff again, this time hiring an ex-NFL player to join the ranks.
The Sun's Zach Abolverdi reports that former NFL quarterback Charlie Frye will join the support staff after spending the last two years as the offensive coordinator at Wekiva in Apopka, Fla.
McElwain repeatedly stated this summer that he had a few more positions to fill on his support staff, but that he would be patient in finding the right hires to fill those spots. He has added a number of support staffers with local recruiting ties, like Marquel Blackwell, James Rowe, Casey Callahan and others.
