The article seemed strange; Jackson left the apartment before the robbery, no indication that he know his friends were going to rob his other friends, and unclear whether he left with the robbers or if they had separate cars.

For all I can tell, he may have simply planned to smoke weed, and after he left to field a phone call, one group of his friends decided to rob the other group.
