Re: [gatortalk] Re: Billy d and 6 large

Zeb,

I have seen this comment before but after-tax (State), the 6 million is 5.67 million.  I would happily take the difference.  1.67 million per year would buy quite a bit of comfort even in Oklahoma.

On the other hand, how much money does someone need?  Maybe he could use his savings and buy the Thunder.  (Estimated value of $967 million according to Forbes).

You have to wonder what his net worth is?  Over the 19 years at Florida, he has done well.

Jerry

"Wojnarowski said Donovan could command $6 million a year, but noted he did not have to pay state income tax in Florida. A five-year deal worth $35 million or more might not out of the question for Donovan, who recently signed a one-year extension through the 2020 season that pushed his annual average salary to $4 million."

Seriously; after taxes what is the significant difference between these two amounts?

Also, short of Scrooge McDucking a swimming pool, what on earth could anyone do with that much money in Oklahoma? I am not making this up - one of the top things to do in Oklahoma City is the National Banjo museum.

The other is to go look at the basketball arena - the place he would be working at. What a great day off - "Honey, let's go look at my workplace."

My brother-in-law's sister lives in Oklahoma. She is a new grandmother. The child's name? "Poppy Capri." I am not making this up. Only in Oklahoma.

If Billy D. wants to make 6 million a year and coach the Lakers or the Knicks, so be it. At least he would be able to spend some of that money at a decent restaurant. Oklahoma City? I'll spot him the money for as much Golden Corral that he could eat.

Who would want to be a multimillionaire if it meant living in Oklahoma? I'll take Door Number 3, please.
