Frankly, unless one of the highly-unlikely "sexy" hires would have happened, this is really one of the best things possible, IMHO.  I was temporarily in the Freeze camp (because I thought he would secure/retain some of the high-star recruits both UF and OM are fighting for) but the more I thought about him, the happier I was he's staying where he is.

I know some of you are lukewarm, but I love this hire and the way Foley has handled it tells me he's getting better at it the more he does it. Keeping most of the defensive staff tells me Foley is counting on a quick turnaround, with McElwain installing his offense and keeping our if it's not broken don't fix it defense in place. If they can salvage recruiting (a guy that follows it closely thinks we'll be able to take a class of about 30) and can patch together an Oline next year, I think we can be competitive right out of the gate.
