Re: [gatortalk] FW: [gatornews] [SUN]: NFL Bag policy for UF-UM game

Jerry-When is your official retirement date?
Citrus County is very pretty. I have a niece who lives in Lecanto and my mom, sister and her family live in Hernando. Lot of Gator fans up that way.

I guess this will apply to the Gator Bowl as well.  I wonder if this will cut down on the drinking at the Fla/Ga game?  While I have not lived close enough to go to the game in many years, I had stopped going because of the drinking being so bad.  Has it gotten better?  When I had quit, the "fans" had become so drunk that my wife and I were almost afraid to cheer for fear it might incite some drunken GA fan.  The Florida fans were almost as bad with their drunken profanity.

BTW, the first year the Gator Bowl began to check containers, I had a friend who was a policeman in charge of one of the gates.  At his gate, the police confiscated 55 gallons of hard liquor.

I am getting closer and closer to retirement and returning to God's country.  Last spring we bought a house in Lecanto (near Crystal River.)  Hopefully I will be able to go to a few BB games this winter.  In a few years, I might even be able to get to some football games.

Jerry

The NFL has adopted a new bag policy for the upcoming season, a policy that will be in place at Sun Life Stadium for Saturday's Florida-Miami game. Miami, which shares the stadium with the Miami Dolphins, will adhere to the NFL's policy.

The policy, which was established with fan safety and expedited entry in mind, places limits on the size and type of bags which may be brought into NFL venues. Fans may continue to carry pockets items such as keys, makeup, combs, mobile devices, wallets and credit cards.

The NFL approved bags fans may carry into the stadium:

· One bag that is clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and does not exceed 12" by 6" and 12" or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).

· In addition to one of the clear bags noted above, fans may also carry in a small clutch bag or purse approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap.

· Diapers and wipes can be carried in a clear bag. Each member of a family, including children, will be able to carry an approved clear bag and a clutch purse, providing ample storage capacity.

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size. Gates open two hours prior to kick off and fans are encouraged to arrive early.
