TULSA, Okla. - Top-ranked Virginia was too much Sunday for No. 9 Florida in the NCAA men's tennis tournament quarterfinals, 4-0.
The Cavaliers, who defeated the Gators earlier this season in Gainesville, advance to the semifinals with a 28-4 record. The Gators finish at 21-7.
"I felt like they were just able to get off to a better start today and once they seized the momentum, they were able hold on to it throughout the singles," UF coach Bryan Shelton said of the Cavaliers.
