OH.. without a doubt he is THAT good of a d coach.. not even a question.. My theory? He spent too much time under Mack Brown. Champ made a HUGE mistake (which btw I took heat from some of you over and over again) by hiring Weis his first year. I really think that set us back.. it was the reverse square peg/round hole from Meyers last few years.. wrong system for the personnel on hand.
the reason why Auburn SHOULD be the fave to win the SEC West... there is no better 1 2 punch right now than to have Malzahn and Muschamp. Muschamp wont even touch the offense in any way shape or form. It might actually be good for him to learn from someone like that.
Heres the one thing I dont understand though.. we had one of the best defensive coaches in the entire country on this staff.. and yet we had one of the worse O's in the entire country and thats because we couldnt sustain drives... maybe he wasnt involved ENOUGH with the O.. I never ever once saw him pull a qb to the side (other than to yell) and look like he was caoching them up.. like "hey.. you did this and that advertised to the D what you were gonna do"... isnt that what a head coach with a defensive back ground can do for an O? Maybe i am over thinking it but it seems like that would be a big advantage.

With six OFFENSIVE players drafted, we had the talent to win. We simply did not know how to use it. That is a coaching problem. Perhaps he was not ready for prime time or perhaps he simply is not a good head coach. Time will tell at Auburn if he is actually that good of a defensive coach. Color me disappointed.
