Re: [gatortalk] Re: [gatornews] Gainesville SUN GatorNews For 2/7 (Thursday), AM Edition

He said it wasn't him. I read from somewhere else it was a recruiting service.
All that aside, if you're going to get angry enough to sign with a school that wasn't even among your top choices for a mistake, I don't want you at UF.
Wasn't he the guy the LSU coaches were doing the fake celebration over?

Thanks, now I get it. I thought that Bama and Bower were linked, this makes more sense.

My understanding of the Bower story was that he told someone at UF he was committing to the Gators, and that came out somehow roughly about 8AM yesterday.  However, well before 9AM there were tweets from Bower saying he hadn't sent in a LOI to anyone.  Rumors and noise was that he was angry UF announced before his commitment ceremony, so he switched to LSU.  I'm not sure about that part of this story, but the fact is UF never got a LOI from him, so, who knows.  It smells like a way to attrat attention to himself, but I could be totally wrong.

Not sure why that article claims James Clark going to Ohio State was "somewhat of a surprise" - many writers were pretty sure that's where he'd end up, as I think Meyer got last shot at talking to him.

The Bama cascade effect thing had to do with JUCO DT Jarran Reed.  He pretty much wanted to go to Bama if things fell in properly, but when Bama landed the main DT on their board, he went with UF.  I don't know if that actually meant his scholarship with Bama was conditional, or what actually was happening there.

According to Josh Abolverdi with Gainesville Sun, after the crazy act by Bowers the coaches felt they were pretty lucky not to get him.

its a mess.  he's a kitty... we dont really consider it a loss since we didnt land him.. we're pretty well covered at DE (with probably better talent coming in)

The Gators were also in position to land defensive end Tashawn Bower, who committed to Muschamp early Wednesday morning, but he signed with LSU instead after news of his UF decision was leaked prior to his announcement. Florida's final target, in-state receiver James Clark, opted to go to Ohio State in somewhat of a surprise move.

Can someone lay out for me the story brehind this story?

Did jay-Nard's announcement change his mind?

What was the deal with Bama picking up some other lineman and that causing a cascade effect?
