Re: [gatortalk] Fwd: [gatornews] SEC Places 8 teams in NCAA baseball field

That's what happened last year when we were the #2 national seed.

Am I correct in assuming that because of being the number 1 seed that the Gators will play all regional and super regional games in Gainesville?

I'm not saying that we will win the CWS. Anything can happen in a single game.
I am saying that we are the most talented team going into the tournament and agree with the number one ranking at the beginning and end of the season. When we are playing our best game, I don't see another team that can beat us.

And...  May I remind you. The lacrosse team was a #1 seed. How did that turn out?

Complete NCAA Baseball Bracket (PDF)

The Southeastern Conference has eight teams in the 64-team NCAA Baseball Tournament field, which was announced on Monday. That number is the most for any conference in this year's field.

Florida earned the overall top seed nationally, and the Gators will host their regional in Gainesville. Florida (42-18) opens play against Bethune-Cookman (34-25) on Friday.

LSU is the number seven national seed. The Tigers will also host their regional, which begins on Friday. LSU (43-16) takes on Louisiana-Monroe (31-28) in the opening game of the Baton Rouge Regional.

Two-time defending national champion South Carolina is the number eight national seed. The Gamecocks will host the Columbia Regional, beginning on Friday. South Carolina (40-17) opens defense of its title against Manhattan (33-25) on Friday.

Many experts thought Kentucky had done enough to host a regional. Instead, the Wildcats were seeded second in their regional and will travel to Gary, Indiana, where Purdue is the host team. Kentucky (43-16) opens regional action against Kent State (41-17) on Friday.

SEC Tournament Champion Mississippi State also earned a number two seed in their regional. The Bulldogs (39-22) are in the Tallahassee Regional, where they open play against Samford (39-21). Florida State is the top seed in the Tallahassee Regional.

Vanderbilt, the runner-up in the SEC Tournament, also got a number two seed in the regional round. The Commodores (33-26) will face UNC-Wilmington (38-21) on Friday in the Raleigh Regional, where N.C. State is the top seed.

Arkansas is the fourth SEC team to be seeded second in their regional. The Razorbacks (39-19) travel to Houston, where they will meet Sam Houston State (38-20) on Friday. Rice is the top seed in the Houston Regional.

The only SEC team seeded third in the regional round is Ole Miss. The Rebels (35-24) will face second-seeded TCU (36-19) on Friday in the College Station Regional. Future SEC member Texas A&M is the top seed in the College Station Regional.

Game times and television information will be announced during the week, and that information will be available on the SEC Digital Network.
