I agree that it's strange that they wouldn't be finishing out the season. I wonder if there's not some cost cutting move behind this. Perhaps the Sun gave them an incentive to leave when they did. Perhaps there were some hard feelings that led them to leave sooner than the Sun wanted them to. Perhaps they were told they couldn't travel to the SEC championship and/or bowl game.
I know that if I were in their position, I'd want to finish out the season absent some special circumstances.
