Breaking: Gators land commitment from 4-star WR Marcus Burke

Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian four-star wide receiver Marcus Burke pulled the trigger and committed to Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators. Burke picked the Gators over other finalists Georgia and Penn State.
The Gators had been seen as the team to beat in this recruitment since March, where Burke visited for a Junior Day. He left Gainesville that day saying the Gators were the team to beat in his recruitment. The Georgia Bulldogs worked Burke hard in the offseason, however it was the Orange and Blue who landed him when the dust settled.
"I like the coaches definitely and I like the atmosphere. I went to games on my other visits, but the atmosphere was crazy and I loved it. It's just like home to me. It's crazy how much it reminds me of Trinity. The fanbase is super loyal like Florida and I love that."
Florida wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales was stuck to Burke's hip during their visit back in March and the two have grown very close thus far in the process.
"I talk with him a lot," Burke said of Gonzales. "We are good and he's a good guy that I talk to every day. We FaceTime and I can tell I am going to have a good relationship with him. He is probably the closest coach that I have been talking to."
With a 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame and speed to burn, Burke will fit in nicely with the Gators wide receiver group.
"He said I am a playmaker and I have the speed to go with me height. He thinks I am a deep threat and how they want to get the ball to their playmakers. He always says their offense is built for players like me. He wants to get me the ball and let me make the plays."

Following Donovan McMillon's decision Saturday to pledge to the Gators, Florida's 2021 class added another highly recruited prospect less than 48 hours later.
Marcus Burke, a 6-foot-3 wide receiver out of Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, committed to Florida over offers from Auburn, Georgia and 19 other Division I programs.

Coach Dan Mullen confirmed Burke's commitment several minutes later on his own social media account.

The 180-pound pass-catcher named the Gators his leader back in March, just a day after taking an unofficial visit to Gainesville for Junior Day. Getting Burke on campus ended up being crucial considering he's yet to visit any other campus since the COVID-19 pandemic abruptly halted in-person recruiting. He's ranked the No. 22 wide receiver prospect in the 2021 class per 247Sports' composite ranking and the No. 22 prospect from the state of Florida by 247Sports.
With Burke's commitment, which is non-binding until he signs a letter of intent, the Gators hold commitments from 21 prospects in the 2021 class.
