UF's Bassett diagnosed with concussion, out for Kentucky
Florida will be even more thin in the frontcourt when it faces Kentucky on Saturday in its regular-season finale at the O'Connell Center.
Redshirt freshman forward Dontay Bassett was diagnosed with a concussion Thursday and will not play against the Wildcats.
The 6-foot-9, 240-pound Bassett suffered the injury when he was hit in face inadvertently while fighting for a rebound in the first half against Alabama on Tuesday. Bassett sat out the second half.
Bassett had started UF's last two games at center and had been playing better of late, scoring a career-high 12 points and grabbing six rebounds in UF's 72-66 win over Auburn last Saturday.
With Bassett out, Florida will be down to a three-player post rotation of junior center Kevarrius Hayes, redshirt sophomore forward Keith Stone and sophomore center Gorjok Gak against the Wildcats.
